Planning to visit Paris during the Olympics of 2024?
Yayyyy! It’s time.
You’ve been planning to visit Paris during its summer Olympics 2024 and wondering what to expect?
You’re not alone, Paris is expecting an unprecedented number of visitors estimated at 15.3 million during the Olympics this year. Expectedly, the city will be buzzing with excitement as it hosts the Olympic Games from July 26 to August 11, followed by the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8. While this is a fantastic time to experience the vibrant energy of Paris, it’s essential to be aware of important details relevant to visitors during this time, especially of potential disruptions that may affect your travel plans and tours.
During the Olympic period, there will be several changes in the city, including security measures for visitors safety.
What does this mean? We’ll say: expect security perimeters, temporary stadium structures, and alterations to traffic patterns, special passes requirements, tickets seat arrangements etc. Notably, areas along the Seine will experience traffic restrictions, road closures, and limited pedestrian access. Some attractions will require proof of prior registration, often in the form of a QR code and a special permit called the "Jeux Pass," which will be referred to as the "Game Pass" throughout this article.
The Game Pass is a mandatory security measure implemented to manage the large influx of visitors and ensure safety around major landmarks and event venues. This pass grants access to designated areas and attractions that are within restricted zones during the Olympics. Applying for the Game Pass requires an online application process that must be completed at least 14 days before your planned visit to ensure sufficient processing time.
The link to apply for the Game Pass will be discussed in the subsequent section, providing clear instructions and tips to facilitate a smooth application process.
The Eiffel Tower has announced a number of procedures which will affect its accessibility during the Olympic Games. These include limited access on certain days, heightened security measures, and specific entry requirements. Any interest in visiting the Eiffel Tower can be directly confirmed on the official Eiffel Tower website, and detailed information about these changes can be accessed via this link.
Also, our popular Eiffel Tower tours will be paused from the afternoon of July 13 through August 11 due to the Olympic Games to accommodate the increased security measures and ensure the safety and smooth operation of the events during this period.

Any updates on these changes can be found on the official Arc de Triomphe website, and detailed information about the access restrictions and closures can be accessed via this link.
Additionally, our tours of the Arc de Triomphe will be unavailable during this period to comply with the security protocols and logistical adjustments. Please check our website for the latest updates on availability and alternative tour options during the Olympic Games.
