All You Need to Know About the Eiffel Tower Standard Tour with Wonder Meets and Tours
"Never again, stood in a queue for a long time with an 11 year old and only did so because we had paid in advance only to find out tour operators had to purchase the tickets like everyone else"
"This was a great experience. Met by a rep who told us lots of interesting facts about the Eiffel Tower's history till date. Had to still queue but the rep helped pass the time well. Came up to second floor and shown the summit elevator then on your own enjoy the views at the top and back down at your own pace. Champagne Moët in souvenir plastic containers topped the experience as an extra. Expensive but a lovely treat. You could take this up to a year but we did it the same day. Lovely day out. Thank you!"
Here are some mixed reactions we've received from our esteemed guests who have participated in our standard Eiffel Tower by Elevator Spectacular City Views tour. Based on their feedback, we believe it's important to reintroduce the tour to our guests.
Dear guests, it is our pleasure to introduce to you the Eiffel Tower by Elevator, Spectacular City Views experience. This tour promises a unique experience, especially for first timers in Paris. There is so much to learn about the city.
The Tour at a Glance
First, we welcome you at the meeting point. The meeting point is an open area (not inside a building) very close to the Eiffel Tower, chosen specifically to make it easier for guests to move in. At our meeting point, our tour host receives you, checks you in and assigns a guide to you. Our guests are kindly advised to arrive at the meeting point at least 30 minutes prior to the the tour start time as this affords you enough time to get to interact with your guide, ask questions, seek clarifications and prepare your expectations for this tour.
It's important to emphasize that the tour is specifically tailored to meet the needs and preferences of certain types of guests. If you're a tourist interested in information, history, fun facts or anecdotes about the the place you're getting to know, then this tour is for you. With the assistance of our knowledgeable and personable local guides, visitors are able to gain a deeper understanding of their surroundings and learn facts and history about the sights they encounter along the way. It's important to highlight the fact that the guides serve as valuable resources for guests who may be unfamiliar with the area.
As travelers ourselves, we've all experienced the confusion and frustration that can come with navigating a new city. Our guides are able to offer a helping hand by using their local knowledge to guide guests through the monuments and ticket areas. This provide a level of familiarity and comfort that simply can't be found through a self-guided tour. In essence, our guides come to the rescue by making the experience one that is both informative, seamless and fun.
It's also worth noting that the decision to provide such a specialized service will have to come with an additional cost which is reflected in the addition to the official price of the monument ticket. However, the value of having a personal guide and tour coordinator cannot be overstated as it ensures a more enjoyable and informative experience for guests.
At the Eiffel Tower, our guided tours are concluded on the second floor where the guide will point out the breathtaking views of the city, take awesome pictures (sometimes of the beautiful sunset) and encourage guests to explore independently from there. For guests who are still going further to the summit, they will have the opportunity to continue the adventure on their own to the third floor.
Overall, the aim of the tour is to provide guests with a pleasant experience in which the guest is supported, guided and entertained.
Below are other features of the Eiffel Tower Standard Tour that you want to take note of:
No Prepaid Tickets
It's also necessary to note that the standard tour of the Eiffel Tower does not come with a prepaid ticket. Guests who book this tour do not receive prepaid tickets at the point when they are making the booking, but the guide will give them their tickets upon purchasing them at the Eiffel Tower on behalf of the guests. Therefore, guests booking this tour need not to worry about navigating the complex ticketing systems on their own. One of the key benefits of this option is that guests don't have to pay any extra fees upon their arrival at the tower. All costs related to the tower ticket are already included as part of the initial booking price.
This can be especially helpful for travelers on a budget who are looking to save money while still enjoying a memorable supported and informative experience. Upon reviewing the tour itinerary, guests will find that all inclusions and exclusions of the tour are thoroughly detailed as regards the tour descriptions.
Long Lines
While long lines can sometimes be an unavoidable feature of this tour, it is not always the case. Depending on the time of year, the day of the week and the time of the day, guests can enjoy the experience of much shorter wait times at the tower.
However, if long lines are present, there's still no need to worry. The tour guide offers a number of services to help make the wait more bearable. One of the key benefits of touring with a guide is the wealth of information they can provide. While waiting in line, the guide will regale guests with fun facts, historical information, and at times, even administer quizzes to keep everyone engaged and entertained, and the winner might just be going home with a prize!
Additionally, guests can stay confident that, even if they need to step away from the line briefly (perhaps to use the restroom), their spot will be held for them by the guide. This means there's no need to worry about losing your place in the queue, however, all guests must be present at the time of pick up of tickets from the guide. Overall, while long lines may be inevitable at times, the tour guides do everything in their power to ensure that guests have a positive and engaging experience throughout their visit to the tower – no matter how long the wait may be!
A visitor had this (below) to say during a Tour that had long wait time:
"Charles was awesome and really managed to keep us entertained during the long wait to use the elevator due to the current situation in Brussels. It was an informative tour with lot’s of Fun facts! I’m telling everyone about the 2-2-5 when I go back home. Charles is also a great photographer!"
Summit Closure
It's worth noting for guests to be aware that the decision to make tickets to the summit available during their visit is entirely up to the discretion of the Eiffel Tower management. The summit may occasionally be closed for maintenance or security purposes, and the Tower may or may not provide either notice or explanation of the closure. While certain guests would have preferred to get to the summit at the time of their visit, they are assured that the Eiffel Tower management is acting in everyone's best interest, as these decisions are to ensure the safety, security, and the overall pleasant experience of all visitors.
If the summit is closed during a guest's visit, the Guide Management Company will be informed of this closure, and guests will receive a 33% refund for the cost of their tickets. This refund will be automatically provided to guests, and they do not need to make any special request for it. The exact timeline for processing the refund will depend on each guest's bank regulations, but refunds will typically be issued within 24 hours to 48 hours.
Here is an additional review from one of our guests, which elaborates on their experience with the summit closure.
"Tour guide Martina was informative, learned a bunch about the tower and it’s history, the summit was closed so we couldn't get to the top, you will need to wait for the guides to pick up the tickets at the office. People get too impatient, but Paris is extremely busy so always expect delays especially at the Eiffel Tower. I'd definitely recommend!"
Booking Confirmation Form
Once guests book their Eiffel Tower experience, they will receive a booking confirmation that includes detailed information about the tour, including the specific time and date of the visit, as well as any conditions or restrictions that may apply. It's important for guests to carefully review this confirmation and fill out related forms, as this will provide them with a more comprehensive understanding of what to expect throughout the tour.
Reviewing the confirmation form is particularly important, as it can help clear up any confusion or uncertainty about the specifics of the tour. This can include providing details about the inclusions and exclusions of the tour, or other activities that guests may engage in. By taking the time to read through the confirmation form, guests can ensure that they are fully prepared for the experience ahead, and that they have realistic expectations about what they will see and do during their visit to the Eiffel Tower.
By so doing, guests can fully optimize their Eiffel Tower experience, and have a truly memorable time exploring this iconic Parisian landmark. So, take the time to review the confirmation form and other relevant materials, and get ready to embark on an unforgettable Eiffel Tower adventure!
Agency Booking
In some cases, guests may book their Eiffel Tower tour through a third-party agent, rather than booking by themselves. While this can be a convenient option for many travelers, it can also lead to confusion or misunderstanding about the specific conditions of the tour.
To ensure that guests are fully informed about their tour experience, we strongly encourage them to seek clarification from their agent or booking service prior to their visit. This way, guests can gain a better understanding of the specific conditions and restrictions that may apply, as well as important logistical details such as the time and location of the tour. Taking the time to seek clarification in advance can help to avoid any potential misunderstandings or issues that may arise during the tour itself. This could include questions about accessibility, photography policies, or the specific areas of the Eiffel Tower that will be visited during the tour. Ultimately, our goal is to provide all guests with a safe, enjoyable, and unforgettable Eiffel Tower experience.
By working together with agents and taking the time to clarify any questions or concerns in advance, we can help ensure that guests are fully prepared to make the most of their visit. So, whether booking directly or through an agent, we encourage all guests to seek out the information they need to have the best possible tour experience.
